Putting the gore into gorgeous, the beautifully gothic Union Chapel in Islington hosts Chills in the Chapel on the 30th and 31st of October. An annual and well-loved event, this year will feature cocktails, fancy-dress and some surprise shocks as well as the films themselves. Master film composer Alan Howarth created the scores for the iconic Halloween film series, amongst many others, and he will be performing various soundtracks live alongside slasher movie screenings. Friday 30th will be a performance for the dystopian “Escape From New York”, starring Kurt Russell, and on Saturday 31st you can catch a medley of music from the Halloween films 2 through 6. Find out more here.
For a truly ghoulish experience, the cult Prince Charles Cinema just off famous Leicester Square will be pulling a Classic Horror All-Nighter. Slashing and slicing its way through classics such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining, The Exorcist and others, this fun and friendly venue encourages you to scream to your soul’s torment!
The Nomad Cinema at The LookOut pop-up experience at Hyde Park will also be raising the hairs on everyone’s necks with their annual frightfest at The Lookout. From Beetlejuice and Carrie on October 30th to The Cabin in The Woods and Psycho on Halloween, tickets to any of these screenings include a nerve-soothing glass of bubbles on arrival, a hot meal, spooky arts-and-crafts-themed activities and even fiercest for marshmallow toasting and ghost-story telling.
These films and many more are all within quick walking (or even faster running scared) distance from both Amba Hotel Marble Arch and Amba Hotel Charing Cross, where you can hide away under the fluffy covers afterwards…!
