London can be an overwhelming place to pick somewhere for dinner as there is such an incredible selection to choose from. It’s easy to fall into the habit of visiting the ‘old faithful’ restaurants you know you like. Why not throw caution to the wind and make  2019 the year to branch out and try something new? Here are some of the latest openings on the London restaurant scene.

Camden Roadkill

Located within the alternative borough of Camden, this restaurant has been labelled as an ‘ethical butcher’. Despite its, ahem, rather enticing name, the restaurant sources it’s meat from  Taste Tradition in North Yorkshire, an award-winning butcher which supplies the highest quality grass-fed meat, free from antibiotics and growth hormones.

If you are looking for an ethical and sustainable burger and chips, this one is for you.

Xier

Ex-Babbo chef, Carlo Scotto, will be launching his debut restaurant Xier in Marylebone, Thayer Street. The restaurant stands out due to being split into two different areas, the first a casual dining restaurant named XR and the second will be offering a ten-course tasting menu. Obsi blue prawns, wasabi caviar, raspberry cured salmon and burnt figs are only a handful of the ingredients that will feature on this menu.

IT Ibiza

‘Where Italy meets Ibiza’, headed by two Michelin star chef Gennaro Esposito the menu will include his signature olive soup with pan fried cod, as well as a selection of Italian classics such as pizza and pasta. Taking over a gallery in Mayfair with performances from world class DJ’s, we feel this is not a restaurant to miss out on.

The Court

Now for something slightly different. We’d like to introduce The Court,  a Carnaby private members club opening in Spring 2019. The Court will have food by Michelin starred chef Tom Sellers and drinks by Mr Lyan, a legendary London-based mixologist, behind what was voted the world’s best bar. The menu doesn’t appear to be public, however, if you are curious and would like to venture in, we hear membership will start from £600 a year.

Orasay

From the guys behind Brunswick House and St Leonards, Orasay will be a Scottish influenced restaurant, located in Notting Hill. The menu will mostly consist of seafood, sourced from the islands of the Hebrides.

If you have a taste for oysters, langoustine, clams and lobster, this one is for you.
